During my career I have been investigated radiative properties of atoms and  ions by using different spectroscopic techniques. In last years I am more concentrated into application of Laser based techniques on the atoms, negative ions and biological objects. Results of my scientific work are reported in the about 60 refereed papers (3 Phys.Rev.Lett.) and conferences.

I have prepared and since 1996 I am giving a course "Lasers and other non-coherent light sources" for master degree students at University of Latvia. I have been supervisor for master degree students.
